Let me start the engines of my car chronicles and take you on a journey through the decades, where each vehicle served as a lead character in the chapters of my life. The 60's were a time when your car wasn't just a mode of transportation; it was your introduction to the world. Cruising down main street in my 55 VW bug was like saying, I could not be less cool and don't have a penny to my name. But taking to the road in my Road Runner, a true muscle car, with Led Zeppelin's Whole Lot Of Love pouring through the speakers, with Lori Joe by my side/ That was like screaming out that I was at the top of my game with a partner in crime for a midnight rendezvous. Fast forward through the decades, from my 57 Chevy that needed more work than I had money, to my Porsche Turbo, the ultimate embodiment of curves and power. And don't forget my Tesla Model S P85. Going from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds is basically the automotive equivalent of a slot car. But let's not forget the high school glory days when I tackled the ultimate DIY challenge ' rebuilding the entire engine of my 66 Mustang. Talk about a sense of accomplishment! And now, I can't help but wonder how many classic baby-boomer cars are languishing in junkyards, once the kings of the open road, now collecting rust and memories. Here's to the cars that fueled my desires ' each one a page in the novel of a life well-driven. May the road ahead be as enticing as the one behind.
